We had "family" in town from Buffalo, NY. Patty is Grandma Carol's bestfriend from way back when they were little girls. ("Hard to imagine Carol ever 'little'...she's always been 6 foot something." - Matt Bailey) Patty and her sons (Matt and Sean) try to come down every year to visit Carol and Madelon and by default, they get me and my family. We get together and do touristy things. Maybe one day they'll move down South...and become Braves fans. I'm sure Matt M is laughing and saying, "When Hell freezes over. Go Yankees!" Anywho...I convinced them to do a gimicky thing - PAN FOR GOLD!
Aunt Madelon with Wyatt
Maddy took Wyatt to a giant fan (located in the panning area) and were making sounds into the fan. Wyatt, being his fist time in front of a giant fan, was watching Madelon's face for the appropriate reaction.
"Okay, this is cool!" - Wyatt
Watching the video on how to properly pan for gold.
*Side note: As soon as we began to pan for gold I got called out and was told I was doing it wrong. Whups. The guy showed me (actually all of us) how to properly do it. I then asked him to show me again, and again...AND again. He caught on I was using him to pan for my gold.
This is why I did it wrong, I was busy taking pictures. I should have been paying attention.
We had some time to kill before our tour began, so we panned for gold first.
After our tour we 'panned' for gemstones.
Sean, Patty and Matt
Sean hit the payload! See all that gold?
Nevermind...your computer might not be able to get in close enough.
But still, he found SOME gold!
Waiting for our tour guide. The tour is about to begin.
But not until Matt shows his scary face. Lilah had many nights of scary dreams...
No, she didn't - after all, I am her mom and that is the scariest thing out there.
Hardhat area.
The most beautiful miner EVER!
See the bat?
How about now? This little fella was flying around during our tour.
Thankfully, non of us were made into vampires on this day.
Gemstone time
Wyatt is doing his own version of digging for something.
My sweet little boy fell asleep on the way to Helen.
We had lunch on the river in Helen. We were all so hungry and the food was great. After we ate, the "kids" minus Wy went tubing. Grandma Carol and Patty took Wyatt around to the shops.
A couple of days later the kids played on the driveway. I'm too lazy to put this in a new post. So, here it is.

Lilah helping her baby brother like an amazing big sister.
I probably would have let my sister go into the street - not away! KIDDING! I would have PUSHED her into the street! Amirite? [Am-I-Right]
This is Wyatt's current "cheese" face/smile.
