No school day on Monday because it was Parent/Teacher conferences. A friend and I swapped kids while the parent went to the meeting. I got to "keep" my kid (Myrthe - pronounced like MEER-TAH) for several hours for Lilah to play with. One kid turned into MANY because my front yard became the play place for some of the neighborhood kids. It was a blast. I set up a chair and watched to kids play. Occasionally I'd give them a game to play (like 4 corners). I'm looking forward to more play days like this one.

Playing "wax museum". A person stands in the middle and has to catch the others trying to slowly change position. Lilah won several times
Playing "simon(e) says"
Marielle came to play, too! She brought Jasmijn (American name Jasmine, but is it pronounced Yows-maine) Marielle and I created a "treasure hunt" list and split the kids up into groups. The first group to find what was on their list won! Jasmijn is playing "mother may I" and telling the other kids what to do.
Berry Patch Farms. Matt had his Friday Half-day and when Li got home from school, we went to the farm. It was fun, except for the part where Mommy (me) got stung by a bee in her palm! We went on a hay ride, took a lot of pictures and got to check out the pumpkins and cotton plants.

Old Roswell Mill
We went for a small walk around the Old Mill and got some great pictures.
Supposedly, the Old Mill is haunted. There are haunted tours. I'm not exactly sure of the "ghost history", but this mill was burned down during the Civil War. It was built in the early 1800s and burned by the Union forces in the mid 1850s. It was rebuilt and a second time the mill was burned down in the early 1900s. A waterfall that was built to help power the mill is still standing and can be seen along the trail.
Recently, there have been many upgrades to help tourists better enjoy this amazing piece of land/history. There are easier walking paths, a restroom was added, and you can see the fencing is new.
This building in the background is part of the original mill. I think this building is haunted. The inside is closed off to the public.
The bridge in the background makes for BEAUTIFUL pictures.
You can see the waterfall behind me. Occasional some poor schmuck tries to walk across the top of it and falls and makes the afternoon news because he needs to be rescued. (It has happened a couple of times over the past couple of years.) Matt has a few interesting stories of playing here when he was a teen.
Cooking out before pumpkin carving.
We love it when Daddy cooks on the green egg. Matt got some ground beef and added some spice and cooked the patties on the Green Egg. It was so YUMMY! Later on, Kara and Ricardo brought their car over and carved pumpkins with us. It was a lot of fun.
Sage dominating the couch/bench.
Li brought out paper and makers to share with Wy.

Kara wanted Ricardo to make a duck-face with her...
...so he said, "pull my finger" and she did. What happened next made us all laugh...except Kara because she didn't get her duck-face, she got a bum burp from her hubby!
BACK TO WORK!
