Swim Team Party

To celebrate the end of swim team, the kids were thrown a "party".  Awards were given out, too.  Each child was given a medal and then a few were given a "Tidal Wave Award".  Lilah was given a Tidal Wave Award for being the First to Practie/Always On Time award.  (See?  Mommy's freakishness about being early paid off!)  Lilah had a good time.  Matt met up with us and helped/chased Wyatt around while I got to sit and talk with our friend Marielle.  To get the part started, the coaches had the kids line up at the diving board to see who had the biggest splash when they jumped in.  After swimming for awhile they gave out awards and then CUPCAKES!

Wyatt is wearing a friend's sunglasses

Now, Wyatt wants to leave with this friend because he shared his sunglasses.
Geeze-oh-weeze!  My kids are easy!

The kids are lined up to splash the judges/coaches.
Lilah is in the middle talking to her friend.

She's in the air.....balling up...

SPLASH!  It was a small splash considering how big some of the older kids got.  But, she is tiny after all.

Time for awards.  All the kids were instructed to come sit on the steps while the awards and medals were handed out. Lilah is on the top stair two to the left of the lady in purple.

The "6 and Under" girls were given their medals and awards first.

Yay Lilah!

Lilah with her coaches.

I don't think Lilah understood what her award meant, but I'll teach her...early is good!
To all you friends and family who are snickering at me for being EARLY....bite it!

Wyatt was getting restless so Daddy took him for a walk....

and kept walking....

Such a great dad and husband!

Jasmijn, our friends' daughter, had some company in splashing.

Looks like he is about to dive in!  I can't blame him.  With 90 degree temps, I was tempted!

This is what Wyatt did during the "award ceremony" until he became cranky.  It was past his bedtime.

Shortly after, Lilah and I followed Daddy and Wyatt.  Lilah got her cupcake and horked it down before we even pulled into the driveway.  (Yes, I drove to the pool even though it is only a quarter of a mile!)

Lilah's Last Swim Meet

GO WAVES!!  The last swim meet was a home meet and the coaches decided it would be mighty fun to have a PIRATE THEME!  Kids were encouraged to dress like a pirate.  One of the coaches commandeered a large vessel and flew the pirate flag!  (Okay, maybe not a large vessel, but a boat nonetheless.)  The kids had a great time.  I had a lot of "tattoos" and some of them were of the pirate theme. So, Kara helped me cut them out and we gave them out to coaches and swimmers.
Lilah won 1st, 2nd, & 3rd!  GO LILAH!

The large vessel - now Pirate owned.

The coaches cheering the swimmers on.  ARRRG!

Kara and me

Make a funny face time...

I can't help but laugh with her all the time.

Lilah was waiting for the race to begin and zoned out.

And she is off!  (Notice how she jumped in AFTER the other girl...)

GO LI!  Swim!  Kick! Pull!  (She is almost caught up!)

(Lilah passes her!)

Lilah makes it to the wall before the other team!
(Sadly, this was a second place win because it was a relay.)

Wyatt is cheering on the swimmers with Daddy.

Kara lookin' all "observant".

This was SO cute... Wyatt is standing on Dad's lap and Lilah comes over to talk to Dad.  Wyatt just reaches out and hugs Li and she returns the hug.  It lasted for several seconds.

Then, Wyatt went in for the kill... The "Torture Lilah" kicked in and he went for her hair.

Wyatt is a lap hopper.  Here, is is demonstrating to his Aunt Kara how to pull hair out.

Back in Dad's lap... Can you tell Wy is getting tired?

I am packing up one of our chairs and Kara seemed to think it was picture time.
Look how I pack that chair up - it should be an Olympic sport and I'd get a GOLD medal!

See?!  ARRRRGGGH!  I am so strong.
(Never mind the fact that the chair isn't all the way in the bag.  What counts is all the strange looks I got from the kids that were walking by.)

Kara said something that made us laugh.  Maybe it is just her face.

I had the camera and Wyatt started to crawl over to me...I thought he wanted my camera OR me.  I was wrong.  Duh, I had his sippy cup in my chair's cup holder.  THAT is what he went for.

At this point he is jumping UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN, and slamming into me.  He likes this game.

Back to Dad.

Now, in Aunt Kara's arms.

Pouty face?  Does someone want a lolli?

Strange face time.  This is my "HUH? WHO ME?" look.  I know...I've perfected it.  I am pretty awesome.

Lilah's ribbons!  What a fantastic little swimmer we have on our hands.  She is already looking forward to next year's swim team.

On the back of each ribbon is a sticker with the information of that race so Li can always remember it.

A few videos.  (Side Note: I've had this camera for a while now...my dumb a** self didn't know it could video.  Kara bought the same camera and didn't know how to make it work, but she figured it out in about 5 1/2 seconds.  So, I got video with my nice camera!  YAY!)

Playing with Grandma is such fun!

While I was uploading pictures to this blog, Sage was hard at work.  Hard at work snoring.  Bless her heart.
