A Trip to Helen, Georgia

We decided to take a day trip up to Helen.  The main goal was to get the kids in an "Old Timey" photo.  The kids dressed up as a cowboy and cowgirl.  Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take pictures inside the place, but eventually we'll scan and upload the amazing picture of the kids.  They had fun and Wyatt smiled a lot.  After pictures we went to eat, found a "huge" lollipop, then visited some REAL bears in the Helen Bear Park.  The hot summer day was beautiful and muggy, but this is a day Lilah won't forget any time soon.

At the restaurant waiting for food.  Wyatt was getting cranky so Daddy gave him "baby crank" aka SUGAR.
Matt: "Dip your finger in here and taste it!  Put it on your tongue...no, not your chin!"

Mmmmm!  SUGAR!
Lilah: "Daddy, can I have some sugar?"
Matt: "No."
Yeah, Lilah.  Only babies can have sugar. (Rolling my eyes)

More sugar made it on his chin than in his mouth.

Sitting pretty and waiting for our food like a nice young lady.

Big Lollipop Time
Daddy is trying to open the sucker (pun intended).

Helen was pretty busy.  (I think there were more people in the river tubing though.)

YAY!  (She actually only had a couple of bites and threw it away - she didn't have the need or want to save it or finish it.)

This sign lights up at night.  The whole town lights up.  It is so pretty.

Bear Park...the term "park" is used loosely.

Paying to get in to see the cute cuddly lil' fellas.

The "park" has the tourists up top looking down into 'pens' with no more than two bear in each pen.  The pens are labeled what type of bear is below.  On a stand in front of the pen has the bear's information: name, weight, location found, etc.

Bear: "Feed me!  Look what I can do!"
So Lilah and Matt threw the food we purchased to the bear and the bear caught it (most of the time) in his mouth.

Peek-A-Boo!

This bear waved when you waved at it!  Show off!

"Hi Bear!"

The bear against the wall is waving.  The other one just wants the food without the darn tricks!

This bear was ready to crawl up the wall to get the treats.
LOOK AT THOSE TEETH!

I'm guessing this one is watching her weight.

Here is Jaws again...You can kinda make out the piece of bread being tossed into his mouth.

GOT IT!

Cheese!

In the Bear Park there are also some reptiles.

This is Wyatt doing his "snake" where he jabs his finger out and hisses.

Wyatt is petting the bear (never mind the "Do Not Touch" sign).

ROARRR!
